Artist's Comments

I figured since I've been in the mood to revamp some old characters, that Oni could use an outfit change. Not permanently, but just something different for her to wear, and let me tell you, it's hard to find something she likes. She's super picky, and you wouldn't like to see her when she gets angry.

Don't ask me why, but she reminds me of a Russian hooker. No offense of course if you are a hooker, Russian, or a Russian hooker.

The styles you choose unfailingly match the subject matters of your work! I always feel as though I need to point that out given that so little art I see seeks symmetry between style and substance. Anyway. Well-done, as always.

thank you! :D
A little secret:
One of my favorite things to do is research. I probably spent 3 hours of research for that pic. And when I mean research, sometimes I just look at deviations for a fews, especially ones that contain something I want to draw, like ripped jeans, or spike belts. Once I see how other artists handle the same ideas, each with their own techniques, I pull a Picasso, and pick out the ideas I like and put them in my mental scrap book for later use. I also try to get a variety of free women's mail order fashion magazines in the mail.

And on top of that, I make up designs that I would like to wear, hence why I never draw super sporty tennis shoes, shorts(usually), and weird random things.

I was irritated with pseudo-punk(forgive spelling) clothing that I've seen on DA and in mostly in my everday life, and wanted to understand it better. So, I've done a research paper on the Sex Pistols, which started the interest, and bought a few books on punk. Once I read about it and understood its state of mind, it became easier to draw in a punk-esque style. Now,while I might not look like a punk, I am one at heart.

(sorry, I seem to have rambled on) :blushes:
